Dermal Filler Aftercare Advice

Haus of Ästhetik Patient Information

Thank you for attending your dermal filler treatment today.

Dermal fillers are used to restore volume, improve facial structure, enhance contours, and rejuvenate areas such as the lips, cheeks, jawline, temples, tear troughs, nose, chin, forehead and hands.

The product used is typically a hyaluronic acid gel which integrates within the tissue and attracts hydration to improve structure and skin quality.

Following the advice below helps ensure safe healing and the best possible results.

What You May Experience After Treatment

Common and expected effects include:

- Mild swelling

- Tenderness

- Redness at injection sites

- Bruising

- Firmness or small lumps initially

These usually improve within several days.

Certain areas may react differently:

Lips

- Swelling may peak at 24 to 48 hours.

Tear troughs and temples

- Swelling may last slightly longer due to delicate tissue.

Hands, cheeks, jawline and chin

- Mild tenderness or pressure sensation is common.

Nose or forehead treatments

- Close monitoring during early healing is important due to vascular anatomy.

The First 24 Hours

Please:

✓ Avoid touching treated areas unnecessarily

✓ Keep skin clean

✓ Sleep with your head elevated where possible

✓ Drink plenty of water

Avoid:

- Makeup for 12 to 24 hours

- Alcohol

- Exercise

- Heat exposure

- Smoking where possible

Cooling packs wrapped in clean cloth may reduce swelling.

Important Advice Depending on Treatment Area

Lips

Avoid excessive talking, kissing, or pressure for 24 to 48 hours.

Tear Troughs

Avoid rubbing eyes or wearing tight eye masks for several days.

Nose and Forehead

Avoid pressure from glasses or sleeping face down.

Temples and Cheeks

Avoid facial massage or sleeping directly on treated sides initially.

Jawline and Chin

Avoid resting your chin heavily on hands.

Hands

Avoid heavy lifting or strong gripping for 24 hours where possible.

Bruising and Swelling

Bruising can occur and normally settles within 7 to 14 days.

Helpful measures include:

- Sleeping slightly elevated

- Gentle cooling packs

- Avoiding unnecessary pressure.

IMPORTANT: When to Contact the Clinic Immediately

Although rare, complications can occur following dermal fillers.

Please contact Haus of Ästhetik urgently if you notice:

- Increasing pain or severe discomfort

- Severe swelling developing quickly

Early treatment is extremely important.

Do not wait if something feels unusual.
