Redness / Thread Veins / Broken Capillaries

Facial redness, thread veins, and broken capillaries, collectively known as telangiectasia, are small, visible blood vessels that develop near the skin’s surface.

They often appear on the cheeks, nose, and chin, giving a flushed or blotchy complexion. While harmless, they can cause cosmetic distress and sensitivity.

At Haus of Ästhetik, we identify the underlying vascular cause and treat redness using targeted, evidence-based therapies that strengthen capillaries, calm inflammation, and restore clarity to the skin.

Overview

Facial redness, thread veins, and broken capillaries, collectively known as telangiectasia, are small, visible blood vessels that develop near the skin’s surface.

They often appear on the cheeks, nose, and chin, giving a flushed or blotchy complexion. While harmless, they can cause cosmetic distress and sensitivity.

At Haus of Ästhetik, we identify the underlying vascular cause and treat redness using targeted, evidence-based therapies that strengthen capillaries, calm inflammation, and restore clarity to the skin.

  • Thread veins and redness commonly affect adults over 30 and those with fair, sensitive, or sun-exposed skin. It can also occur post-pregnancy or after long-term use of topical corticosteroids. Individuals with rosacea are more prone to persistent vascular changes and facial flushing.

    • Fine red, blue, or purple vessels visible on the face or neck

    • Persistent redness or flushing

    • Sensitivity, burning, or mild swelling

    • Skin dryness and textural irregularity

    • Exacerbation by temperature, alcohol, or stress

    • What NICE advises: For persistent erythema/telangiectasia (often with rosacea), consider vascular laser or IPL delivered by trained clinicians. How: offer pulsed-dye or Nd:YAG/IPL as appropriate after assessing skin type and vessel depth.

    • What the NHS advises: Laser/IPL can help cosmetic telangiectasia; typically via dermatology referral with a short course of sessions. How: 2–4 treatments are commonly needed; access varies across NHS/private services.

  • 1. Vascular Laser or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy

    • Recommended by NICE and NHS for facial telangiectasia.

    • Targets haemoglobin in superficial vessels, collapsing them safely while sparing surrounding skin.

    • Reduces redness, improves uniformity, and strengthens dermal microcirculation.

    • Typically requires 2–4 sessions with minimal downtime.

    2. mesoestetic Energy C and Anti-Redness Solutions

    • Formulated with vitamin C, azeloglycine, and anti-inflammatory peptides.

    • Brighten skin tone, reduce redness, and reinforce capillary walls.

    • Can be integrated into in-clinic facials or at-home care to extend results.

    3. Teoxane RHA Serum and Deep Repair Balm

    • Contain antioxidants and HA to restore barrier function and reduce post-vascular treatment irritation.

    • Support recovery following laser or microneedling therapy.

    4. mesoestetic Mesotherapy (C.Prof 210 / 220)

    • Delivers active agents such as rutoside and organic silica to strengthen vascular walls and reduce inflammation.

    • Suitable for diffuse redness or fragile capillaries.

    5. LED Photobiomodulation Therapy (Red & Yellow Spectrum)

    • Reduces inflammation, promotes microvascular repair, and soothes post-treatment sensitivity.

All procedures are performed by medical practitioners under CQC Regulation 12: Safe Care and Treatment, ensuring full assessment, consent, and product traceability.

  • Appropriate for adults with persistent redness or visible vessels who are not pregnant and have no photosensitising conditions or medications. Patients with uncontrolled rosacea, keloid tendency, or recent tanning are deferred until skin is stable. Suitability for light-based therapy is determined by skin type and vessel depth.

    • Laser/IPL: 60–80% reduction in visible vessels after 2–4 sessions.

    • Topical/mesotherapy support: progressive improvement in tone and vascular strength.

    • Results are long-lasting when combined with sun protection and vascular maintenance skincare.Patients notice clearer, calmer skin with reduced flushing and improved texture.

    • Avoid hot baths, saunas, or vigorous exercise for 48 hours post-treatment.

    • Apply Teoxane Deep Repair Balm or mesoestetic Fast Skin Repair for comfort.

    • Use SPF 50 daily to prevent recurrence of vascular damage.

    • Avoid alcohol and spicy food for 48 hours.

    • Maintenance sessions every 12–18 months keep redness minimal and skin tone even.

  • Book a Vascular Clarity Consultation at Haus of Ästhetik for a clinical analysis of your redness or thread veins. We’ll assess vascular depth, triggers, and skin type before creating a personalised treatment plan combining laser/IPL and regenerative skincare.

All interventions are carried out under CQC Regulation 12: Safe Care and Treatment, following NICE and NHS evidence-based guidance for vascular skin management. Expect calm, radiant, evenly toned skin with lasting confidence.
