Sagging Skin

Sagging facial skin is one of the hallmark signs of ageing and structural change. It occurs when collagen, elastin, and fat pads that once supported the face begin to thin and descend. The result is laxity around the jawline, cheeks, and neck, giving a tired or heavy appearance.

While entirely natural, it can affect confidence and self-image. At Haus of Ästhetik, we take a regenerative and anatomical approach, restoring lift, contour, and support while maintaining your unique features.

Overview

Sagging facial skin is one of the hallmark signs of ageing and structural change. It occurs when collagen, elastin, and fat pads that once supported the face begin to thin and descend. The result is laxity around the jawline, cheeks, and neck, giving a tired or heavy appearance.

While entirely natural, it can affect confidence and self-image. At Haus of Ästhetik, we take a regenerative and anatomical approach, restoring lift, contour, and support while maintaining your unique features.

  • Sagging skin affects all skin types and genders. The onset and severity vary depending on genetic makeup, lifestyle, and skincare habits. Individuals who have lost weight rapidly, have high sun exposure, or smoke tend to notice laxity earlier.

    • Loss of cheek volume and flattening of the mid-face.

    • Formation of nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

    • Jowl formation along the jawline.

    • Loose or crepey texture under the chin or neck.

    • Dull, dehydrated appearance due to reduced dermal density.

  • There is no specific NICE guideline for the cosmetic treatment of sagging skin, so we practise under general NICE principles of shared decision-making, thorough assessment and strong safety governance. The BNF guides any prescription element, for example safe prescribing and the reversal medicine held for hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers, rather than cosmetic technique. We are honest where the evidence base is limited.

  • Sagging Skin is typically supported with CE/UKCA-marked hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers (medical devices) and regenerative skin treatments, chosen to restore balance and support skin quality. Your plan may include:

    • Hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers, which are reversible; we hold the appropriate reversal medicine and emergency protocols for the rare event of a complication.

    • Skin boosters, polynucleotides or regenerative treatments to improve skin quality.

    • Professional skincare, resurfacing and LED to support the result.

    • Prescription options only where clinically relevant, considered after an in-person medical assessment.

Treatment is tailored to your anatomy, with the aim of natural balance rather than overfilling.

  • Suitability is confirmed following a full medical and facial assessment. Contraindications include pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection, or autoimmune disorders affecting wound healing.

We review medical history, medication use, and previous aesthetic procedures before developing an individualised plan. Patients seeking subtle, natural rejuvenation benefit most from progressive, layered treatment plans.

  • Results depend on the option chosen and on individual factors, so we set expectations openly at your consultation. In general the aim is a natural improvement in sagging skin rather than a dramatic change. Some treatments work gradually over several weeks as skin quality improves; others give a more immediate effect that then settles. Results are not permanent, vary from person to person, and are maintained on a personalised review schedule. We will not overtreat, and we welcome an honest conversation about what is realistic for you.

    • Avoid strenuous activity, alcohol, and heat exposure for 24–48 hours post-treatment.

    • Do not massage or apply pressure to treated areas.

    • Maintain hydration and protect skin with SPF 30+ daily.

    • Support long-term collagen health with a balanced diet, skincare rich in retinoids and antioxidants, and adequate rest.

    • Schedule review appointments every 9–12 months to maintain optimal results.

  • The first step is always a face-to-face consultation at Haus of Asthetik. We assess your face and skin, take a full medical history and discuss realistic, evidence-based options for sagging skin. Any prescription element is provided only where clinically appropriate, following an in-person medical assessment and prescriber sign-off; we do not prescribe remotely. Treatments are for adults aged 18 and over only.

All care is delivered under CQC Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment), with informed consent, product traceability and written aftercare, and our governance is kept in step with the forthcoming national licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Individual results vary and are discussed honestly with you. If you ever feel distressed about your appearance, we are glad to talk it through and, where helpful, signpost further support.
