Volume Loss / Facial Deflation
Facial volume loss, often referred to as facial deflation, is the gradual reduction of the fat pads, bone support, and soft-tissue fullness that give the face its youthful contour. As structure diminishes, the face may appear flatter, less defined, and more tired, even when the skin itself is healthy. At Haus of Ästhetik, our goal is not to simply “fill” but to restore balance and natural form — recreating lift, projection, and harmony through medically precise, regenerative volumisation techniques.

Overview
Facial volume loss, often referred to as facial deflation, is the gradual reduction of the fat pads, bone support, and soft-tissue fullness that give the face its youthful contour. As structure diminishes, the face may appear flatter, less defined, and more tired, even when the skin itself is healthy. At Haus of Ästhetik, our goal is not to simply “fill” but to restore balance and natural form — recreating lift, projection, and harmony through medically precise, regenerative volumisation techniques.
Facial volume loss can affect both men and women, typically becoming noticeable from the mid-thirties onward. It may also appear earlier in those who exercise heavily, lose weight rapidly, or have low body fat percentages. The condition is universal across skin types, though patterns vary — some lose mid-face fullness first, others along the temples or jawline.
Flattened cheeks or loss of mid-face projection
Hollowing under the eyes or temples
Sagging around the jawline and nasolabial folds
Shadowing and reduced light reflection
Tired or drawn facial appearance despite good health
There is no specific NICE guideline for the cosmetic treatment of facial volume loss, so we practise under general NICE principles of shared decision-making, thorough assessment and strong safety governance. The BNF guides any prescription element, for example safe prescribing and the reversal medicine held for hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers, rather than cosmetic technique. We are honest where the evidence base is limited.
Facial Volume Loss is typically supported with CE/UKCA-marked hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers (medical devices) and regenerative skin treatments, chosen to restore balance and support skin quality. Your plan may include:
Hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers, which are reversible; we hold the appropriate reversal medicine and emergency protocols for the rare event of a complication.
Skin boosters, polynucleotides or regenerative treatments to improve skin quality.
Professional skincare, resurfacing and LED to support the result.
Prescription options only where clinically relevant, considered after an in-person medical assessment.
Treatment is tailored to your anatomy, with the aim of natural balance rather than overfilling.
Suitable for adults showing visible loss of mid- or lower-face structure, hollowing, or skin laxity. A comprehensive consultation includes facial mapping and medical screening to determine whether filler, collagen stimulation, or combination therapy will achieve the most natural outcome. Contraindications include pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection, or known hypersensitivity to HA products.
Results depend on the option chosen and on individual factors, so we set expectations openly at your consultation. In general the aim is a natural improvement in facial volume loss rather than a dramatic change. Some treatments work gradually over several weeks as skin quality improves; others give a more immediate effect that then settles. Results are not permanent, vary from person to person, and are maintained on a personalised review schedule. We will not overtreat, and we welcome an honest conversation about what is realistic for you.
• Avoid touching or massaging treated areas for 24 hours.
• No strenuous exercise, alcohol, or heat exposure for 48 hours.
• Maintain hydration and daily SPF 30+.
• Support skin recovery with Teoxane Advanced Filler or mesoestetic Collagen 360°.
• Review at 2 weeks; maintain results annually or as advised by your clinician.
The first step is always a face-to-face consultation at Haus of Asthetik. We assess your face, take a full medical history and discuss realistic, evidence-based options for facial volume loss. Any prescription element is provided only where clinically appropriate, following an in-person medical assessment and prescriber sign-off; we do not prescribe remotely. Treatments are for adults aged 18 and over only.
All care is delivered under CQC Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment), with informed consent, product traceability and written aftercare, and our governance is kept in step with the forthcoming national licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Individual results vary and are discussed honestly with you. If you ever feel distressed about your appearance, we are glad to talk it through and, where helpful, signpost further support.
