Double Chin
A double chin, or submental fullness, refers to excess fat or skin beneath the jawline that blurs facial definition and balance. It can occur regardless of age or weight, and is often resistant to diet and exercise.
At Haus of Ästhetik, we address double chins through evidence-based, non-surgical treatments that reduce localised fat, tighten the skin, and restore a defined, elegant jawline, all under medical supervision and in line with CQC and MHRA standards.

Overview
A double chin, or submental fullness, refers to excess fat or skin beneath the jawline that blurs facial definition and balance. It can occur regardless of age or weight, and is often resistant to diet and exercise.
At Haus of Ästhetik, we address double chins through evidence-based, non-surgical treatments that reduce localised fat, tighten the skin, and restore a defined, elegant jawline, all under medical supervision and in line with CQC and MHRA standards.
A double chin can affect both men and women across all ages. It is not exclusive to overweight individuals; even those of healthy weight may develop it due to hereditary fat storage patterns or tissue laxity. It typically becomes more noticeable from the mid-thirties onwards as skin elasticity declines.
Soft tissue fullness beneath the chin (submental area)
Reduced jawline definition
Sagging or “crepe” skin under the chin and neck
Heavier lower-face appearance
Shadowing or poor contour on profile photographs
There is no NICE or BNF guideline endorsing injectable fat reduction for cosmetic body areas; any prescription option is specialist-led and considered only after medical assessment. Energy-based and skincare modalities are supported by dermatological evidence rather than NICE protocols.
We approach double chin with health and comfort in mind, not conformity to any single ideal shape, and we screen sensitively for body-image concerns. Your plan may include:
Prescription injectable options for localised fat, assessed and prescribed only after an in-person medical consultation.
Professional body-contouring skincare and supportive treatments.
Practical lifestyle guidance to support and maintain results.
Honest discussion of what is, and is not, realistically achievable.
We will always be candid about suitability and expected outcomes.
Suitability is assessed during consultation with a full clinical examination of fat distribution, skin tone, and jawline structure.
Contraindications include pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver disease, uncontrolled diabetes, or active skin infection. Each plan is individualised to balance fat reduction with tissue support and skin tightening.
Results depend on the option chosen and on individual factors, so we set expectations openly at your consultation. In general the aim is a natural improvement in double chin rather than a dramatic change. Some treatments work gradually over several weeks as skin quality improves; others give a more immediate effect that then settles. Results are not permanent, vary from person to person, and are maintained on a personalised review schedule. We will not overtreat, and we welcome an honest conversation about what is realistic for you.
Expect mild swelling or tenderness for 24–72 hours post-a prescription injectable treatment.
Avoid massage, heat exposure, and alcohol for 48 hours.
Stay hydrated to aid lymphatic drainage.
Use gentle skincare and mineral SPF daily.
Maintain results with balanced nutrition, posture correction, and annual review sessions.
The first step is always a face-to-face consultation at Haus of Asthetik. We assess your chin and jaw, take a full medical history and discuss realistic, evidence-based options for double chin. Any prescription element is provided only where clinically appropriate, following an in-person medical assessment and prescriber sign-off; we do not prescribe remotely. Treatments are for adults aged 18 and over only.
All care is delivered under CQC Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment), with informed consent, product traceability and written aftercare, and our governance is kept in step with the forthcoming national licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Individual results vary and are discussed honestly with you. If you ever feel distressed about your appearance, we are glad to talk it through and, where helpful, signpost further support.
