Regulatory or accrediting body:

Save Face is an independent Professional Standards Authority-accredited register. It operates in collaboration with the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners and works alongside regulators such as the Care Quality Commission, the General Medical Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and other professional bodies.

Although Save Face is not itself a statutory regulator, its standards are widely recognised across healthcare and aesthetics as a benchmark for good practice.

Scope of recognition:

Save Face accreditation applies to individual practitioners and clinics delivering non-surgical aesthetic treatments. It confirms that the registered provider meets defined criteria relating to:

  • Professional registration and scope of practice

  • Training and qualifications

  • Insurance and indemnity

  • Governance and complaint handling

  • Premises standards

  • Patient safety and consent processes

It does not replace statutory regulation, prescribing authority, or CQC registration where these are required.

Standards and core requirements:

To be accepted and remain listed, registrants must demonstrate compliance with standards that typically include:

  • Appropriate professional registration with a recognised regulator

  • Verified training and competency in the treatments offered

  • Valid professional indemnity and public liability insurance

  • Clear consent, consultation, and record keeping processes

  • Robust complaints handling procedures

  • Adherence to ethical advertising and marketing standards

  • Compliance with infection prevention and control expectations

  • Alignment with national guidance and professional frameworks

These requirements are subject to review and may be updated by Save Face over time.

How the clinic meets these requirements

The clinic maintains Save Face registration by embedding its standards into everyday clinical and governance practice, including:

  • Maintaining verified professional registration and scope of practice

  • Ensuring all treatments are delivered within competence and training

  • Holding appropriate indemnity and insurance cover

  • Operating clear consultation, consent, and aftercare processes

  • Maintaining documented policies for complaints, safeguarding, and governance

  • Ensuring premises and equipment meet expected safety standards

  • Reviewing practice in line with updated guidance and standards

These measures are integrated within the clinic’s broader clinical governance framework.

Monitoring, review and ongoing compliance:

Save Face registration is reviewed periodically and requires continued compliance with its published criteria. Ongoing governance activity includes:

  • Keeping documentation and insurance up to date

  • Reviewing policies and procedures regularly

  • Responding to any updates in professional guidance

  • Maintaining transparency in advertising and public information

  • Addressing feedback or concerns in line with formal procedures

This ensures that registration reflects active compliance rather than a static endorsement.

Transparency and verifications:

Save Face registration can be verified through the official Save Face public register. Patients and stakeholders may also request confirmation or further information through the clinic’s governance contact routes.

Clear signposting is provided to support informed choice and confidence in the clinic’s professional standing.
