Haus of Ästhetik Patient Information
Thank you for attending your Vitamin B12 injection appointment today.
Vitamin B12 injections are commonly used to support energy levels, neurological function, red blood cell production, and overall wellbeing where deficiency or supplementation has been identified.
The injection is usually administered into muscle tissue, commonly the upper arm or thigh, allowing the vitamin to be absorbed gradually by the body.
Following the advice below will help ensure a comfortable recovery.
What You May Experience After Treatment
Most patients experience little or no downtime.
Common and normal effects include:
- Mild soreness at the injection site
- Slight redness or swelling
- Tenderness when touching the area
- Small bruise developing
These effects usually settle within a few days.
Some patients report feeling increased energy over the following days as levels improve.
Immediately After Your Injection
Please:
✓ Keep the injection area clean
✓ Leave any small dressing in place for several hours if applied
✓ Continue normal daily activities as tolerated
Avoid rubbing or massaging the injection site for the remainder of the day.
Activity Advice
You may return to normal activities straight away.
However, for the first 24 hours it is advisable to avoid:
- Intense upper body exercise if injected into the arm
- Heavy lifting involving the treated muscle
- Excess pressure on the injection area
This helps reduce soreness and bruising.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects are uncommon but may include:
- Headache
- Mild nausea
- Temporary flushing
- Dizziness shortly after injection
These normally settle quickly.
Very rarely, allergic reactions can occur following injectable treatments.
