Policy on Under-18s – Safe and Appropriate Care
At Haus of Ästhetik, we are committed to safeguarding children and young people. By law, and in line with national guidance, we do not provide cosmetic aesthetic injectables to anyone under the age of 18.
What treatments are available?
We only offer acne care treatments to patients aged 13–17.
These treatments may include medical-grade skincare, chemical peels, and LED light therapy.
No injectable or cosmetic procedures (e.g. Botox, fillers, PDO threads) are provided to under-18s.
Safeguards in place
Parental Consent: A parent or legal guardian must give written consent and attend the first consultation.
Gillick Competence: For young people under 16, our clinicians carry out a Gillick competence assessment to ensure they understand the treatment, risks, and alternatives.
Safeguarding Oversight: All under-18 treatments are reviewed by our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Michelle Caudren.
GP Record Sharing: Where appropriate, we ask for GP medical summaries to ensure treatments are safe.
Why these rules exist
To comply with the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021.
To protect children and young people from unnecessary risk.
To ensure any treatment is safe, ethical, and in the young person’s best interests.

If you are under 18, or a parent/guardian, and have any concerns about our policy or how it is applied, you can:
Speak directly with your clinician.
Contact our DSL, Michelle Caudren.
Escalate to the CQC or local safeguarding services if needed.
