Medicines Information – Safe Prescribing and Use
At Haus of Ästhetik, we want you to feel confident and informed about any medicines prescribed as part of your treatment.
How we prescribe
Only qualified and registered healthcare professionals (NMC, GMC, GPhC, or GDC prescribers) can prescribe your medicines.
Prescribing is based on a full consultation, medical history, and (where required) GP record sharing.
Remote prescribing (e.g. via video consultation) is only used when it is safe and appropriate.
Licensed and off-label use
Some medicines, like weight management injections (GLP-1 therapies), are licensed for specific purposes but may also be used “off-label” in line with clinical evidence.
If your treatment involves off-label use, we will always explain what this means, provide evidence, and record your written consent.
Storage and disposal
Medicines provided for you to take home (such as weight management injections or vitamin supplements) will include clear instructions on how to store them safely (e.g. refrigeration if required).
Expired or unused medicines must not be thrown in household waste. You can return them to the clinic or to your local pharmacy for safe disposal.
Your responsibilities
Always follow the instructions provided by your prescriber.
Store medicines securely and away from children.
Report any side effects immediately – we will record them and, if necessary, report them to the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Never share your medicines with anyone else.
Our standards
Our prescribing and medicines management policies follow:
Human Medicines Regulations 2012
MHRA guidance (including Yellow Card reporting)
NICE clinical guidelines
CQC Regulation 12: Safe Care and Treatment
This ensures all prescribing is safe, lawful, and evidence-based.
