Purpose:

Explain patients’ rights to refuse, withdraw, or delay treatment, and how consent and capacity are assessed.

Discription:

What you need to know

At Haus of Ästhetik, no treatment goes ahead without your clear, informed consent. We want you to feel confident, supported, and in control of every decision about your care.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can say no

You have the right to refuse treatment at any time. We will respect your decision and, where appropriate, discuss alternatives or next steps.

You can change your mind

Giving consent does not lock you in. Even after signing a consent form, you can stop or withdraw from treatment at any stage.

You have time to decide

Some treatments, such as anti-wrinkle injections, include a minimum 24-hour cooling-off period before you can proceed. For other treatments, you may choose to go ahead on the same day if you feel ready and fully informed. There is never any pressure to decide immediately.

You have the right to understand

Before you decide, we will explain the treatment, expected results, possible risks, and alternative options in clear, plain English. If anything is unclear, please ask. We are always happy to explain things again.

Your safety comes first

If we believe a treatment would not be safe or suitable for you, we may advise against it. This is always based on clinical judgement and professional standards, and is done to protect your wellbeing.

How we assess capacity

We always assume you are able to make your own decisions unless there is a clear reason to think otherwise.

If there are concerns about decision-making, we will assess capacity in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and record this carefully.

Young people aged 13 to 17 are treated under additional safeguards. This includes Gillick competence assessments and parental involvement where required, such as for acne treatments.

If you need extra support

  • You can ask for written information to take away and review at home.

  • You are welcome to have a family member, carer, or advocate with you during your consultation.

  • If English is not your first language, we can arrange translation or interpreter support, including British Sign Language.

Our promise

Consent is a conversation, not a tick box. We will never rush you, and we will always prioritise your safety, comfort, and confidence in your care.
