Microneedling Aftercare Advice

Haus of Ästhetik Patient Information

Thank you for attending your microneedling treatment today.

Microneedling works by creating very small controlled micro-channels within the skin. Think of it as encouraging your skin to begin a carefully managed repair process. During healing, collagen production increases, skin quality improves, and active ingredients such as mesoestetic professional solutions or regenerative treatments including polynucleotides can work more effectively within the skin.

Following the aftercare advice below helps achieve the best possible results whilst keeping your skin safe during recovery.

What You May Experience After Treatment

The following reactions are normal and usually settle within a few days:

- Redness similar to mild sunburn (typically 24 to 72 hours)

- Warm or tight skin

- Mild swelling

- Dryness or light flaking

- Increased skin sensitivity

If polynucleotides or skin boosters were used, you may also notice:

- Small injection marks

- Mild swelling or raised areas

- Tenderness in treated areas

These effects are temporary and form part of the normal healing response.

The First 24 Hours (Most Important Period)

Your skin barrier is temporarily more vulnerable following treatment.

Please:

✓ Keep the treated area clean

✓ Avoid touching your face unnecessarily

✓ Wash hands before applying skincare

✓ Use only products recommended by the clinic

Avoid:

- Makeup

- Gym or strenuous exercise

- Saunas or steam rooms

- Swimming pools or hot tubs

- Excess alcohol intake

- Direct sun exposure

If the skin feels warm or uncomfortable, a clean cool compress may help soothe the area.

Skincare After Treatment

For the first few days, gentle skincare is essential.

Recommended:

- Gentle cleanser advised by the clinic

- mesoestetic post-procedure or recovery creams

- Hydrating serums recommended by your practitioner

- SPF 50 sunscreen once redness begins to settle

If you have received or been prescribed regenerative treatments such as polynucleotides, these continue supporting skin repair beneath the surface. Maintaining hydration and avoiding irritation improves treatment outcomes.

Avoid for approximately 5 to 7 days unless advised otherwise:

- Retinol or Vitamin A products

- Exfoliating acids (AHA, BHA, glycolic or salicylic acid)

- Acne treatment creams containing active ingredients

- Facial scrubs or exfoliation devices

If you are unsure about any skincare product at home, please contact the clinic before using it.

Sun Protection

Your skin will be more sensitive to sunlight following treatment.

Please:

- Use SPF 50 daily

- Avoid sunbeds

- Limit prolonged sun exposure for at least 7 to 10 days

Good sun protection significantly reduces the risk of pigmentation changes.

Makeup

Makeup can usually be applied again after 24 hours, provided:

- The skin surface remains intact

- Redness has reduced

- Clean brushes or new applicators are used

Mineral makeup is recommended initially where possible.

Activities to Avoid During the First Week

Please avoid:

- Facial waxing or hair removal creams

- Additional skin treatments

- Chemical peels or laser procedures

- Swimming in untreated water

- Excessive heat exposure

Your skin is actively repairing during this period.

When to Contact the Clinic

Please contact Haus of Ästhetik promptly if you experience:

- Increasing pain after 48 hours

- Worsening redness or spreading inflammation

- Pus, discharge, or signs of infection

- Significant swelling

- Fever or feeling unwell

- Development of cold sores

Early advice allows concerns to be managed quickly and safely.

Results and Follow Up

Skin improvements develop gradually as collagen production increases.

Typical timelines include:

- Improved glow and hydration: 1 to 2 weeks

- Texture improvement: 4 to 6 weeks

- Ongoing collagen remodelling: up to 12 weeks

Most patients benefit from a planned course of treatments as discussed during consultation.
